Karlyn's First Fight

Karlyn got in her first fight today. The little boy next door is 6 months older than her, yet smaller! We call them boyfriend & girlfriend and Karlyn even thinks that is his name, your boyfriend. They play pretty well together except that he always takes all the toys. Normally she lets him and doesn't stick up for herself....until today. I'm not too worried about her being bullied when she gets to school! :)

Pet Sematary maybe?

Almost everyday Bug and I go for a short walk on the golf course behind the units to see if we can find any golf balls or sticks, she loves to beat me with sticks. So I set her down to run, we walk a couple feet and then I see this

Click on it to see if it gets bigger. If not then I suggest right-clicking and saving so you can open it with a program that has a zoom function.

I could tell that it was two different animals....but what I didn't understand is why one is skeletal and the other still has fur! So my theory is that Fur Corpse found Skeletal Corpse, tried to eat it, got his jaw stuck, couldn't move and died of starvation.

Anyone else have any better ideas?

And does anyone have an idea of what the hell kind of animals they are?

And how the hell did it end up on the golf course!!!

The really creepy part was when I got closer to take the picture and a strange noise started coming from the tree branches directly above me and the dead thing. Needless to say we booked it. :)

So chime in, I want to hear your ideas!

My kid is such a dork

Apparently this is the laughing mat.

The laugh itself is pretty new.

Adorable though. :)

You gotta love how she stops cold once she realizes she's being videotaped.

Calling in all favors!

We're moving.

Not far.

Just three miles, even staying in the same zipcode.

So, who wants to fly out here and help me pack?

Anyone?

Anyone at all?

Bueller?

Bueller?

Part 1

First, let me start by telling you that yesterday evening while I spent 20 minutes at the grocery store sans Bug, daddy got the privilege of cleaning up huge mounds of Bug-poop off the living room floor. ahh justice :)

Anyway, there have been so many cute/funny moments in the last couple days that I couldn't resist sharing a few pictures and videos with everyone.

Unfortunately I don't have as much time as I'd hoped so the explanations will be brief.

This was my Valentine's Day present from Bug and Josh. Massage, heat, cup holder. ahhhh.

Our kid loves to read (ok look at pictures and/or have us read to her). She gets it from her mommy.

She takes a book or two everywhere with her.

She also likes to read outloud to us :)

Would rather read than play with her many toys. There are times I have to hide the books!

She even takes a book to read on the plane (flying through the air courtesy of Air-Daddy)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The only word Bug can say other than Daddy (dah-ee) is Hi! So every morning when we walk in to get her out of her bed we are greeted with the cutest Hi! Josh decided to record it one day.

Adorable yes?

---------------------------------------------------------------------

And here's the Bug with her Mobile Ball Pit

Hmmm I think there was a hurricane...

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

She likes to dance by spinning in circles. The video won't load so all you get is a picture

She also likes to look at pictures of herself on the computer

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bug and Josie have a new game they play together. No it's not chase the kitty. I throw a crumpled up piece of paper for Josie, she plays with it for a couple seconds, then Bug runs to pick it up and either brings it back to me to throw again (yes I play fetch with my kid) or tries to give it to Josie. They will do this for hours.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First pizza experience

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She won't let us brush her teeth anymore....unless I let her brush mine first.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bug wanted to wear daddy's socks. Why does this remind me of the Rocky Horror Picture Show?

Ok, I can't get the last two videos to load on this post because it's too full so I'll load them in Part 2

Hey there...

I know I haven't written in a while. Don't worry, we're all ok, just don't have as much time to write as I used to. The little Bug requires constant attention nowadays! I'm currently cooking dinner for myself so I can't really write an update but I can give you pictures!!

My Scary Night

I know I'm way behind on my blogging but I decided I really need to share what happened to me last night with the world.

-------------------

Josh was at work, the baby was asleep and I was upstairs watching TV. I hear my phone ring downstairs and go down and answer it. It was my dad, he didn't say why he called but handed the phone to my mom. Apparently he's moving back to the desert and they were out furniture shopping for him.*

Anyway, after I got off the phone I decided to make a snack. I went into the kitchen and turned on the light but nothing happened. I pulled the cord for the light and still nothing.** So I turned on the dining room light and again nothing. (it was evening and still a bit of light out so I wasn't talking on the phone in the dark or anything). So I walk over to the front door and tried those lights, nothing was working. I noticed that the door was unlocked and I knew I'd locked it before going upstairs.

Then I noticed that the french doors to the spare room were closed and I definitely knew I hadn't closed those.*** I tried the switch leading to the spare room and flicked it on and off a few times. I could see the light go on and off from under the door. It was then that I realized someone was in my house. Not just was someone in my home, but they had disabled all downstairs lights except the one for the room in which they were hiding.

I ran up half the stairs before realizing I needed to make it seem like I didn't know what was going on. So I slowly went up the second set of stairs and let out a large yawn hoping to fool the intruder into thinking I was clueless. I get to my room and climb into bed, under the covers, pretending to be asleep, just in case. ****

That was when I heard the footsteps on the stairs.

That was when I woke up. Heart racing, sweat pouring from every pore on my body. That was possibly the most real-feeling dream I've ever had. I had to shake Josh awake to cuddle with me before I could go back to sleep.

The rest of the night was no better. More scary, bad dreams. Can't remember any of them though, maybe that's for the best.

-----------------------------

*Even if my dad did move back to the desert I highly doubt he and my mom would be out furniture shopping. Hint #1

**There isn't a cord for the kitchen light Hint #2

***Our spare room does not have french doors, in fact it doesn't even have a door. Hint #3

****Seriously, if this was a true story I would have gone straight to my child's room, picked her up and climbed over the balcony to go for safety.
